Your website looks great! Have many good memories of the time I spent in the company. Hope to stop in some day and see the new quint and the fire house.
I remember being a member with my two brothers John and Bill. I lived next door and drove the old Diamond T and the first Seagrave. We used to have a lot of fun back then. When I get to Madison I always try to stop in and see the new and old. Joe
Joe: Its been a long time. Send me a e-mail with some contact info and I’ll give you a shout. Had a lot of good times with you, John and Bill. Life was good in those days and a lot easier. Things have sure changed and have become more complex. I was able to follow my dream in the fire service as well as a law enforcement career. Looking forward to hearing from you. My uncles Robert Schoenstein,Sr. and Nathan Schnabel took my sis and I on Sunday rides on the 4′s fire truck when we were kids. The company was awesome then and looks like they are still AWESOME.

To my friends and family in Madison, I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. May you have a safe and prosperous new year. I wish you all the best of luck. You have a great department with a lot of history that you all should be proud of. You all should be proud of what you guys have and what you have achieved over the years. You have some great looking equipment. My friend Don McKay Sr, stay safe and stay healthy, us old timers and far and few between. Some day I hope to be able to return to Madison for a visit and ride with the 4′s. I spent a lot of good times in Madison and think about it often.

Awesome Utility Man 4444 ?????
Come on Bill you don’t remember who 4444!
Spent many good summers in Madison hanging out at #4. Took many rides on the old “54″ ladder. Grandparents, Charles and Elsie Copeland lived on Walnut Street. Relatives were William, John and Joe Robbins, memebrs of #4 in 60′s. I recognize or remember one name still on your member list, Don McKay Sr. My mothers name was Mary Kathryn and if he remembers me, please tell him I said hello.
Thanks for your response to the Fours’ web site. If I remember you correctly, you were the red-headed kid from Connecticut who waxed the ’73 Seagrave for us one summer . Quite a job.
The ’54 Midwest now sits rusting in a field about 5 miles west of Madison, but we have found and recovered our 1929 Ahrern’s Fox which is in fair condition at the station. Hope you can make it back to Madison for a visit some day.
Don McKay, Sr., Lt.
